Description

The salt stings your eyes, a familiar discomfort. You taste it too, a gritty film on your tongue carried by the incessant wind. This isn't just any salt. This is the salt of the Shifting Sands, the cursed desert that swallowed empires whole. You are Kai, a relic hunter, a whisper in the dunes, and maybe, just maybe, the only one who can stop the creeping shadow that threatens to consume what little remains of civilization. You arrived in Dustwind, a city clinging precariously to the edge of the endless waste, three days ago. The reason? A rumour, whispered in the hushed corners of taverns from Oasis to Oblivion: the Sunstone, a mythical artifact said to hold the sun's very essence, has been unearthed. Legends claim it's the only thing that can hold back the Nightmarch, the undead legions that rise with each passing dusk, fueled by a hunger that knows no bounds. The only problem? Everyone wants it. The Crimson Hand, a ruthless band of desert raiders, led by the notorious Scarface, are scouring the dunes, leaving a trail of bloodshed in their wake. The Obsidian Cult, fanatical worshippers of ancient, forgotten gods, believe the Sunstone is the key to ushering in a new era of darkness. And then there's the Merchant Guild, always eager for profit, seeing the Sunstone as nothing more than a bargaining chip, a weapon to wield in their endless power struggles. You're currently holed up in the Broken Spear, Dustwind's seediest cantina, nursing a tepid glass of cactus juice. Outside, the sun beats down mercilessly, turning the already oppressive air into a shimmering haze. You need to find a guide, someone trustworthy (a rare commodity in these parts) who can lead you to the Sunstone's rumored location: the lost city of Zerzura. The stakes are high, Kai. Fail, and Dustwind, the last bastion of hope, will fall. Fail, and the Nightmarch will claim the world. And if you believe the legends, failing means more than just death... it means eternal servitude in the legions of the damned. The choice is yours. Will you brave the Shifting Sands and become a legend? Or will you become just another grain, lost forever in the endless desert?
