Description

The air shimmers with heat haze above the rusted plains. You cough, pulling the tattered scarf higher over your mouth. The crimson dust, a constant companion these last few years, grinds between your teeth. The Sun Eater did its work well, baking the world to a crisp, leaving only echoes of what was. Echoes… and Scavengers. You are one such scavenger, a ghost in the ruins of a forgotten civilization. You sift through the debris of skyscrapers that scrape the dead sky, searching for scraps – anything to barter for water, for shelter, for another day of life. Your name is… well, names don't matter much anymore. You're known as "Dustrunner" in the settlements, a moniker earned through sheer stubbornness and a knack for finding the unfindable. Today, the wind whispers a different tale. It carries the faintest scent of… metal. Clean metal. A rare and precious commodity in this broken world. Following the scent, you crest a ridge and your breath catches in your throat. Half-buried in the sand, like a forgotten god slumbering in its tomb, lies a machine. Not just any machine. This is a Harvester, a relic of the old world, designed to pull moisture from the very air. But it's not working. Its metal limbs are twisted, its core exposed, and a colony of vicious, sun-scorched Sand Hawks have claimed it as their nest. The only thing preventing them from tearing it apart completely is some kind of… shimmering field. A defensive system, barely functioning, but still holding. The other scavengers have avoided this place, calling it cursed. But you see something different. You see possibility. The Harvester, if repaired, could change everything. It could bring water back to the parched earth, revive the dying settlements, maybe even… heal the land. Of course, repairing it means navigating treacherous traps left behind by the old world, fighting off the Sand Hawks, and finding the incredibly rare components needed to bring the machine back to life. And that's not even considering the other Scavengers, who might see the Harvester as a weapon, a power to be controlled rather than a resource to be shared. So, Dustrunner, what will you do? Will you risk your life for a chance at something more than survival? Will you brave the dangers and attempt to resurrect a relic of the past? The future, or what's left of it, rests on your decisions. The desert is waiting. Your journey begins now.
